MIG - DNS & NAT
Managed Internet Gateway - draw your line in the sand
- DNS
- Domain Name Service. A staple of the Internet, DNS translates human readable names into IP addresses, which is the underlying tool of connectivity.
- NAT
- Network Address Translation. A system of mapping external public addresses to internal private addresses. A useful component in network management and security, and closely related to "masquerading", which is similar, except that many internal hosts are represented as one public address.
